Illegal Cut

Definition

It is an illegal cut block if:

  1. an eligible receiver who takes a position more than two yards outside of his own tackle (a flexed receiver) is blocked below the waist; or
  2. an eligible receiver who is lined up on or behind the line of scrimmage and is within two yards of his tackle is blocked below the waist after he crosses the line of scrimmage
  3. Outcome

    15 yards. If committed on defense: automatic first down.
